This used to be Camille’s and recently changed hands. Colie’s has 3 locations in the area. Has outdoor seating. Great place to grab a sandwich or coffee and sit and watch the passersby.

We wandered in the cafe about 5 hours after the owner opened his new cafe. We went to dinner down the street and were looking for a place to have some dessert and sit and talk. They now serve wine and beer too. There is usually jazz playing in the seating area and it’s a great place to chill out. It’s a cell phone free/wifi free cafe. Some people like that mantra; some don’t. Given that my husband and I spend all day online with our day jobs, we don’t mind it.

Chocolate and Vines

We discovered Chocolate and Vines right after it opened. Danielle and Michael painstakingly worked to convert this house on University into a cozy and inviting place to sit, talk and enjoy some coffee, chocolate, wine, cheese and high-end beer. In the summer, you can sit outside on the porch or their patio. In the winter, you can stay warm and enjoy the ambiance indoors. Or play some pool. They know how to throw some mean parties too. You can make reservations for private parties. My girlfriend had the most fantastic and memorable birthday shin-dig here.

They are incredible people who care about being part of the neighborhood. Stop by and tell them Renee sent you.

Boulder Coffee

Boulder just opened in June and we couldn’t be more excited! There was another neighborhood coffee shop there for years and years (Spin) and we were heartbroken when it closed. Boulder is a much loved local coffee house here in Rochester with its flagship house in the South Wedge. We are very happy to welcome Boulder to our neighborhood!
